US Crypto Industry Disappointed by Reduced Developer Protections in Clarity Act

The US cryptocurrency industry has voiced disappointment over reduced protections for blockchain developers included in the revised Clarity Act.

On April 14 (local time), Crypto in America host Eleanor Terrett announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the new Clarity Act had scaled back provisions from the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act regarding developer protections. Terrett reported industry insiders are particularly disappointed by the exclusion of criminal liability protection for developers.

However, she noted most industry representatives do not view the removal as severe enough to jeopardize the entire Clarity Act.
