US Ethereum ETF Sees $197 Million Inflow Amid Profit-Taking Strategy

American Ethereum (ETH) exchange-traded funds saw a $197 million inflow last week, but analysis suggests this should be viewed as positioning for arbitrage trading rather than new spot demand.

Bitfinex revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that $197 million flowed into Ethereum ETFs during the previous week. Analysts noted the funds were likely used to establish positions for cash-futures arbitrage, with investors holding ETFs while using Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Ethereum futures to profit from price discrepancies between spot and futures markets.

Bitfinex indicated that the inflow size alone does not suggest strong directional buying interest in Ethereum.
