U.S. Government Officials Discuss AI Safety Risks with Anthropic Executives

U.S. government officials met virtually with Anthropic executives on Thursday to discuss artificial intelligence (AI) safety risks, reports Bloomberg Law. The report cited Tom Brown, Anthropic's chief computing officer, as having participated in the meeting with Emil Michael, Under Secretary of Defense for Technology, and Howard Lutnick, Commerce Secretary.

Brown has reportedly emerged as a key representative of Anthropic in Washington recently. Anthropic declined to comment on the reports, and the White House did not respond to requests for comment.
