US House Passes Bill Imposing Up to 100% Tariffs on Countries Purchasing Russian Oil and Gas

The US House of Representatives passed a sanctions bill on Tuesday that would allow up to 100% tariffs on countries purchasing Russian oil and natural gas. The vote was 262 in favor and 159 against, according to AP.
The bill grants authority to impose up to 100% tariffs on the top five buyers of Russian oil or natural gas. It now moves to the White House for President Trump's signature. The legislation also excludes countries that have reduced or stopped importing Russian natural gas, which accounts for less than 15% of Russia's total exports.
