US Republicans Reject Democratic Amendment to Clarity Act

The US Republican Party has reportedly refused to accept a Democratic proposal for amendments to the Clarity Act, a bill related to virtual asset market structure.

According to Infinity Hedge on May 15, US political media Punch Bowl News reported that Democrats' counter-proposal to the Clarity Act was rejected by Republicans.

Cynthia Lummis, a Senator's office spokesperson stated, 'The Democrats have not moved an inch.'

Earlier, Democrats had proposed additional amendments, arguing that recent Republican proposals lacked sufficient ethical provisions. With Senate voting approaching and no compromise reached between the two parties, uncertainty over the bill's passage has increased.
