US Sanctions Four Iranian Crypto Exchanges Including Nobitex

The US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has sanctioned four Iranian cryptocurrency exchanges, including Nobitex. The targeted platforms are Nobitex, Wallex, Bitpin, and Ramzinex. In a June 2 announcement, OFAC stated that Nobitex processed over 50% of Iran's digital asset inflows in 2025 and was involved in sanction evasion and transactions linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The Treasury also alleged that Nobitex supported Iran's central bank access to stablecoins and assisted other exchanges in circumventing sanctions through international platforms.
OFAC warned that non-US financial institutions and foreign entities operating within Iran's financial sector could face sanctions if they engage with the designated exchanges.
