VanEck Executive Says Bitcoin Community Aware of Quantum Computing Threat

Matthew Sigel, head of VanEck's digital assets research team, said that while quantum computing could threaten Bitcoin, the Bitcoin community is aware of the severity of the issue. Speaking in an interview with CNBC, he added that due to the decentralized nature of cryptocurrency networks, progress in solving the problem may be slower, but the community continues to conduct related research steadily. He also noted that more significant advancements could be seen within a few years.
