Venice Added as Service Provider to Circle's AI Agent Marketplace

Venice has been reported as a new service provider on Circle's Agent Marketplace, which allows AI agents to pay for services like image and video generation using USDC. Crypto Briefing reported on May 18 that Venice was added to the marketplace without an official announcement from either Circle or Venice.

Circle launched its Agent Stack on May 11, a suite of infrastructure including Agent Wallets, Agent Marketplace, Circle CLI, and Nanopayments designed for AI agents to hold assets, search services, and transact in USDC. The marketplace is described as a platform where AI agents can view pricing and features before paying with USDC.

Nanopayments support transactions as small as $0.000001 in USDC. According to Circle's documentation, agents can access hundreds of endpoints on the marketplace without accounts or API keys, using USDC or x402-based payments. Payment details are included in requests, streamlining service usage and payment.

Venice, founded by Erik Voorhees in 2024 as an AI platform, reported in a July 1 release that it serves over 350 million registered users, processes more than 1.3 trillion tokens monthly, and has handled 2 million daily developer API calls. The company secured $65 million in Series A funding (approximately $898 million) and was valued at $1 billion (about $1.381 billion).

Venice uses x402 for wallet authentication, where a service sends a 402 payment request, prompting the agent to pay USDC via wallet before continuing API usage. Circle's documentation states that x402 processed $24.24 million (about $335 million) in transactions over the previous 30 days, with 99.8% settled in USDC. In a subsequent quarterly report, Circle noted that over 900 paid services were registered on Agent Stack, and 99.3% of x402 agent payments were settled in USDC.

Circle's terms state that it does not guarantee the performance or results of external services listed on Agent Marketplace, and service availability may change at any time. The marketplace enables AI agents to pay without requiring human approval or API keys, using wallet balances and payment limits instead.
