Vitalik Buterin Suggests Governance Design Theory Can Address AI Safety Concerns

Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin has claimed that the theoretical mechanisms of governance system design could be utilized to solve AI safety issues. In a recent post on X, he stated: 'The problem of governing a system with relatively simple rules to prevent exploitation by more intelligent participants is structurally similar to the challenge of humans controlling an AI potentially stronger than themselves. Specifically, existing governance anti-collusion mechanisms can be applied to prevent multiple AIs from circumventing human control and colluding.'
