White House Virtual Asset Official Expresses Positive Outlook on Senate Clarity Act Vote

Patrick Witt, White House Virtual Asset Committee Chief of Staff, has expressed a positive outlook on the prospects for passing the Clarity Act ahead of its first procedural vote in the Senate floor. According to CoinDesk, Witt stated that Republicans have accepted 95% of Democratic negotiating positions related to the bill and noted President Donald Trump's willingness to further compromise on government ethics provisions.

Witt emphasized the legislation has bipartisan potential, stating 'We are working to correct past mistakes of trying to kill this industry.' He dismissed concerns from banks about deposit outflows due to stablecoin reserves as 'entirely speculative and conjectural.'

Addressing prolonged bipartisan negotiations, Witt remarked, 'What else do you want? If you dislike virtual assets and oppose the Clarity Act, just say so,' he added.
