Winbond Acquires Infineon's NOR Flash and F-RAM Business for $1.12 Billion

Winbond (Hua Bang Dian · 2344) has agreed to acquire Infineon's NOR flash and F-RAM business for $112 million (approximately KRW 1.5344 trillion). The transaction, which will be conducted in cash, involves 100% of the equity in Infineon's relevant business units. Winbond announced on October 16 that it had signed a share purchase agreement with an Infineon subsidiary, while Infineon simultaneously confirmed the final sale of its NOR flash and F-RAM operations to Winbond.
The companies stated that the deal is subject to necessary regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed by the second half of 2027. Infineon also clarified that it will retain ownership of certain specialized memory businesses, including SRAM, HYPERRAM, and nvSRAM.
