XLM Rises 8.2% in a Day, Approaches $0.20 Resistance Level

Stellar Lumens (XLM) rose 8.2% over a 24-hour period, approaching the $0.20 resistance level. Daily trading volume surged by 221%, while futures open interest increased by 14.4%. AMBCrypto noted on May 15 that XLM's trading volume, open interest, and spot cumulative volume delta (CVD) all rose together. Funding rates briefly turned negative but the upward price trend continued.

Open interest refers to the total value of unsettled futures contracts, with an increase indicating new positions entering the market. However, it does not indicate whether buying or selling pressure dominates. Spot CVD measures the cumulative flow of buy and sell orders in the spot market. AMBCrypto highlighted that the simultaneous rise in open interest and spot CVD suggests a recent shift in demand.

XLM's daily swing structure was assessed as bullish, with $0.173 marking a Fibonacci retracement level at 78.6%, which has held support over the past two weeks. The $0.195 level is seen as a short-term supply zone that must be broken for further gains. XLM remains within the $0.173–$0.195 range, requiring a breakout above this zone to sustain an upward trend.

Additional resistance levels are identified at $0.20–$0.21. The $0.17 and $0.20 levels have historically acted as key demand and supply zones since June. Liquidation heatmaps show concentrated liquidity around $0.20, suggesting that a breakout may require combined demand from both spot and futures markets.

If prices rise quickly to near $0.20 but spot demand weakens, the price could retreat toward $0.17. The brief negative funding rate indicated some market participants betting on a pullback at resistance, though this alone does not determine future price direction.

AMBCrypto assessed the 24-hour trend as bullish but noted that the long-term trend since the start of the year remains bearish, indicating a short-term rebound within a longer-term downtrend. The analysis emphasized monitoring key levels: $0.195 resistance, $0.20–$0.21 resistance, and $0.173 support to gauge near-term movement.
