XRP ETF Accumulated Net Inflows Reach $1.68 Billion as 21Shares Highlights Regulatory Clarity and Real-Use Cases

Accumulated net inflows into U.S. spot XRP ETFs have reached approximately $1.68 billion (about KRW 2.2562 trillion), according to 21Shares, which has outlined Ripple's investment rationale around regulatory clarity, institutional accessibility, real-world use cases, and supply structure. However, the firm cautioned that increased XRP Ledger (XRPL) usage does not immediately translate into sustained demand for XRP.

21Shares noted in a recent analysis that XRP’s value hinges on whether blockchain payments and tokenized asset settlements scale up in real-world applications. While regulatory clarity has improved compared to the past, institutional demand and real-world adoption remain key factors requiring further validation. The firm cited the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Ripple Labs’ mutual dismissal of appeals in August 2025 as evidence of regulatory progress. The SEC confirmed on August 7, 2025, that its previous ruling—including a $125 million civil penalty and an injunction against securities law violations—remains in effect.

Indicators of institutional accessibility included U.S. spot XRP ETFs, with cumulative net inflows reaching approximately $168 million as of September 7, 2026, and total assets under management (AUM) of about $148 million (KRW 1.9876 trillion). These figures reflect price movements, redemptions, and fees. While ETF inflows have continued, 21Shares stressed that cumulative inflows should not be equated with long-term holding demand or current AUM.

Real-world use cases are grounded in XRPL’s payment and tokenization capabilities. The firm estimated that approximately $50 billion (KRW 67.15 trillion) in on-chain value moved through XRPL over the past 12 months, with tokenized assets reaching around $4 billion (KRW 5.372 trillion). These figures are based on 21Shares’ analysis and should not be directly compared to other on-chain data without considering the source and methodology.

XRP’s fixed supply is also cited as part of its investment rationale. The XRP Ledger launched with 100 billion XRP, and small amounts are burned as transaction fees—standard fees are set at 10 drops, which are permanently destroyed per official documentation. While burning reduces supply, the firm noted that this alone does not confirm sustained demand for XRP.

21Shares emphasized that XRPL usage and XRP holding demand require a separate connection to validate long-term value. Even if institutions issue tokenized assets or stablecoins on XRPL, short-term use during transactions may not translate into sustained value for XRP holders. The firm cited cases where network transaction volume increased while payment counts and active accounts declined.

In its January 23, 2026, outlook report, 21Shares identified regulatory clarity, spot ETF demand, and XRPL adoption for stablecoins and real-world assets as key variables, while warning that insufficient real-world usage and institutional adoption could trigger 'news-driven sell-offs.' The firm clarified that price scenarios in the report are estimates based on their analysis, not predictions.

For domestic investors, 21Shares advised separately tracking ETF inflows and XRPL on-chain activity. While ETF funds reflect regulated access, they do not indicate holding periods or trading purposes. Ultimately, the firm’s analysis positions regulatory risk mitigation and ETF inflows as starting points, with final validation resting on whether XRPL real-world usage translates into sustained XRP demand.
