XRP Ledger's BatchV1_1 Gains Support from 30 Validators for Activation

XRP Ledger's next-generation payment feature 'BatchV1_1' has entered the activation phase after securing support from 30 out of 35 validators. The feature, which bundles up to eight transactions into a single operation, requires an 80% approval rate sustained for 14 consecutive days to activate on the mainnet by September 29. BatchV1_1 reduces the risk of partial transaction processing by ensuring all bundled transactions succeed or are canceled together, making it suitable for delivery-versus-payment (DvP) transactions and streamlining payment and fee processing for exchanges, wallets, and marketplaces.

As of September 19 at 2:34:20 PM UTC, BatchV1_1 had secured support from 30 out of 35 validators, representing approximately 85.7% approval. The activation countdown began on September 15 at 11:06:41 PM UTC. If the support rate remains above 80%, it could activate shortly after September 29 at 11:06:41 PM UTC, though changes in validator votes would alter this timeline.

RippleX Engineering Head Ayo Akinyele noted that asset management firms and commercial projects are preparing to develop based on Batch, though specific company names, contracts, or release dates remain undisclosed. The update addresses security flaws found in the previous version of Batch, which had a vulnerability allowing attackers to execute internal transactions without victims' private keys. The original version was withdrawn before mainnet deployment, preventing financial losses.

RippleX redesigned the signature verification structure for BatchV1_1 and underwent internal attack testing, AI-assisted analysis, and security evaluations by Sherlock, Halborn, and Common Prefix. The rippled 3.3.0 release supporting BatchV1_1 launched on August 6. Activation depends on validator support rates and server compatibility, as with previous XRP Ledger updates.
