XRP Whales Estimated to Accumulate 1.54 Billion Coins Over 96 Hours

Large XRP holders are estimated to have added approximately 154 million XRP over the past 96 hours, valued at roughly $2 billion (about ₩2.77 trillion). Ali Charts analyst noted on August 19 that activity among major XRP wallet holders has significantly increased. This estimate is based on on-chain data, though individual wallet purchase intentions or actual transaction entities remain undisclosed. The figures represent the cumulative increase in holdings across wallets that saw their balances rise during the same period, making it difficult to attribute this movement to a single investor or specific institution.

Market participants often view changes in whale wallet holdings as one indicator of XRP demand flow. However, transfers between wallets or deposits/withdrawals from exchanges can also affect holding fluctuations, so an increase in holdings alone does not confirm buying pressure. On August 19, XRP's 24-hour spot trading volume reached approximately $1.36 billion (about ₩1.89 trillion), with the price rising 7% to $1.41 from the previous day. While whale accumulation and price growth coincided, no direct causal relationship between the two has been confirmed.

Earlier in August, Ali Charts had reported that large holders added over 30 million XRP within a 96-hour window, increasing total wallet holdings from around 16 billion to 16.36 billion XRP. This latest estimate exceeds the previous figure. Large wallets may move assets for various reasons including long-term holding, wallet restructuring, or off-exchange transfers; actual selling activity and market circulation must also be considered.
