XRPL Hub Stability Improves, Former XRP CTO Says He Doesn't Know Why

Former XRP chief technology officer (CTO) David Schwartz says his XRPL hub server has recently shown noticeable stability improvements over the past two weeks, with peer connections surpassing 500 again.

According to a report by blockchain media U.Today on September 17 (local time), Schwartz stated he cannot determine why his XRPL infrastructure performance has improved. He noted that "over the past two weeks my hub has mysteriously gotten more stable and reliable with fewer peer disconnects." The latest data shows active peers at 501, close to a recent two-week high of 509.

This comment refers specifically to Schwartz's personal XRPL hub server, not the entire XRP Ledger network. Hub servers maintain connections with multiple other servers in the XRPL network, facilitating peer-to-peer (P2P) data exchange for ledger information, transactions, and other network details.

When servers repeatedly lose peer connections, operators must reestablish them. Fewer disconnections indicate longer-lasting existing connections, leading to a more stable network operation environment. Schwartz's reference to "server safety" appears to relate to this improvement.

The community has speculated about the sudden change. One user asked if there was a hypothesis for the unexpected shift, while others questioned whether an AI model might be involved in the hub operations. Other theories included possible involvement of a 'Stablegeist' or current work by an XRP community 'Riddler.'

However, Schwartz himself remains uncertain about the cause. While network connection conditions have demonstrably improved based on metrics, it's unclear whether this is due to server configuration changes, external network state shifts, or other factors. Market and community attention will likely focus on whether this stability improvement is a temporary phenomenon or a sustained trend.
