Zcash NU7 Agreement Reached; Mainnet Activation Set for November 5

Zcash (ZEC) ecosystem developers and engineering teams have reached an agreement on the content and timeline of the next network upgrade, NU7. The mainnet activation is scheduled for November 5. Zcash community forum announced that NU7 will reduce block creation intervals from 75 seconds to 25 seconds and disable v4 transactions. Integration of the Network Sustainability Mechanism (NSM) is also included as a key component. Official testnet upgrade to NU7 is planned for October 6, with mainnet activation date subject to final adjustment based on testnet performance.
