ZCode Apologizes for Code Transmission Controversy, Announces Open-Sourcing and Additional Allocation

ZCode, the AI coding tool by Zepu, has apologized for a controversy regarding user code being transmitted to the cloud. ZCode identified the storage index feature as the cause of the issue and stated that it has resolved the problem. In its statement, ZCode explained that the storage index feature creates an index locally to support session checkpoint recovery, version rollback, and Repo Wiki generation. However, during the creation of Repo Wiki pages, storage data uploads could occur, with this feature initially enabled by default, affecting some users. ZCode clarified that after Wiki pages are generated in the cloud, related uploaded data is immediately discarded and not stored. The company plans to open-source its code repositories soon and invite third-party evaluators to review system operations before releasing progress updates. As a compensation measure, ZCode will provide all users with an additional one-time weekly allocation reset, effective September 18.
