ZCode Data Upload Controversy Leads to Accountability Letter from Saeung Science

Chinese AI coding tool ZCode faces a responsibility dispute after Saeung Science issued a letter to Beijing Zifu Huazhang Technology Co., Ltd. regarding allegations of automatic data uploads by the platform. According to PANews reporting on October 20, Saeung Science claims ZCode automatically uploaded company assets and trade secrets without user consent, including full project source code, system architecture, version control history, database passwords, cloud service credentials, and employee personal information. Earlier, Zifu acknowledged quietly uploading local storage data from users and stated the issue has been fixed. Developer Pestal's technical blog and related reports revealed that ZCode encrypts workspace and .git history for upload while logged in, with Zifu explaining this feature operates during code repository indexing and uploaded data is discarded after Wiki creation. Saeung Science asserts these explanations do not align with their findings.
