ZEC ETF Tops Weekly Capital Inflow Among Crypto ETFs, Not Bitcoin or Ethereum

Zcash (ZEC) spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) attracted $98.2 million in capital inflows during the week ending September 18, marking the highest among 14 cryptocurrency products. Ethereum (ETH) funds recorded a net outflow of $140 million.

Weekly figures mask volatile movements: both Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum ETFs saw significant sell-offs mid-week, with only one recovering in time.

Washington had a bad two days followed by a busy rebound. Both started the week strong, with Bitcoin ETF adding $160.04 million and Ethereum product gaining $121.02 million on Monday.

However, Tuesday saw the Senate reject the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (CLARITY Act) 49-50, causing Bitcoin funds to lose $450.33 million—the worst weekly performance. The Federal Reserve then raised interest rates by 0.25 percentage points to a range of 3.75%-4% on Wednesday, the first increase since 2023. Bitcoin lost another $295.98 million while Ethereum saw $224.11 million exit.

Bitcoin rebounded from Thursday, adding $433.03 million on Friday to recover all $746.31 million lost in the two policy sessions. Weekly net inflow stood at $6.2 million—the smallest absolute figure among 141 weeks.

Ethereum took longer to rebound: three consecutive days of outflows totaling $448.2 million, with a $143.8 million inflow on Friday failing to offset the weekly loss.

ZEC ETF has now recorded four consecutive weeks of net inflows since its late-August launch, accumulating $271 million total. Its assets reached $914.5 million, up 40.5% from last week. ZEC is now the third-largest altcoin ETF after XRP (XRP) and Solana (SOL), leading all 14 products with a trading volume of $11.42 billion—32.5% of total spot crypto ETF volume.

Solana continued its 12th consecutive week of net inflows, adding $13.2 million. XRP saw $9.6 million in inflows, half of last week's $19 million. Hyperliquid (HYPE) reversed a $26.4 million outflow to record $3.1 million in net inflow. Chainlink (LINK), Avalanche (AVAX), Tron (TRX), Dogecoin (DOGE), Litecoin (LTC), and Hedera (HBAR) collectively added less than $4.8 million, while BNB and Polkadot (DOT) saw no movement.

Total net inflow across all 14 products was -$5 million, with total assets rising 4.89% to $123.9 billion. Market sentiment for the coming week will depend on whether buyers join the rebound or remain cautious.
