Zcash Holders Vote to Maintain 25-Second Block Time and Halving Schedule

Zcash (ZEC) holders voted on two key proposals, approving the introduction of 25-second blocks at 99.9% and supporting the maintenance of the current halving schedule at 98.9%. The voting process involved approximately 2.4 million ZEC tokens. CoinDesk reported on October 16 that this vote was part of the procedure to finalize the scope of the Zcash NU7 network upgrade. Results published on the Zcash community forum showed that 2,375,932.375 ZEC voted in favor of maintaining the halving schedule. The proposed 25-second block interval aims to reduce the current target block time from 75 seconds.
