ZEC nears $1400 after NU7 vote supports Bitcoin-style halving

Zcash (ZEC) has neared $1400. After the NU7 upgrade vote saw support for maintaining Bitcoin-style halving, the price surged 168% over a month. Decrypt reported that ZEC recorded double-digit gains on Thursday, with the voting results aligning with the upward trend. The vote involved approximately 2.4 million ZEC, with 98.9% supporting the retention of the current halving schedule. This represents about two-thirds of the eligible supply of roughly 3.6 million ZEC. The Zcash community also reported that 99.9% supported reducing block creation intervals from 75 seconds to 25 seconds in NU7.
