Zcash NU7 Vote Approves 98.9% Support for Current Halving Schedule

Zcash (ZEC) has seen its NU7 network upgrade vote conclude with approximately 2.4 million ZEC participating, and the existing halving schedule retention proposal receiving 98.9% support. A proposal to reduce the block target interval from 75 seconds to 25 seconds was also approved. According to voting results posted on the Zcash community forum, the participating amount totaled over 2.37 million ZEC out of approximately 3.6 million ZEC in the Ironwood pool at snapshot time, representing a participation rate of about 66%. The official Zcash guide states that NU7 has yet to have an active block determined. This vote result is part of the procedure for defining the upgrade scope, with actual network implementation dates to be confirmed separately.
