ZEC Surges 17%, $10 Million Short Position Fully Liquidated

Zcash (ZEC) surged 17% amid a $10 million (approximately 1.4 billion KRW) short position being fully liquidated, according to Lookonchain's X account. Lookonchain reported that the trader closed a 767.2 ZEC long position before switching to a short position, which was then fully liquidated as ZEC prices rose. CoinDesk noted ZEC traded above $1,358 on April 17 after rising over 17%. The same report indicated total leveraged positions worth $345 million (approximately 472.7 billion KRW) were liquidated across the broader crypto market during that period, with ZEC-related liquidations amounting to $56 million (approximately 76.7 billion KRW).
